Invitation to BRM 400 km Twisted Eight on Velebit 2014

If you wish to accept the challenge of cycling the route a little longer than 400 km and at the same time feel the breath of Lika, Velebit, northern Dalmatia and Primorje, we invite you to join us in Otočac and get to the start of the BRM Twisted Eight on Velebit 2014, at Saturday May 31st at 6:00 am.

The route in the form of a distorted figure eight is as follows: Otočac – Švica – Donji Kosinj (1st Check Point) – Perušić – Lički Osik – Gospić – Baške Oštarije – Karlobag (2nd CP) – Starigrad – Zaton Obrovački (3rd CP) – Gračac – Medak – Gospić – Smiljan – Popovača Pazariška (4th CP) – Bakovac Pazariški – Krasno Polje – Sv. Juraj – Senj (5th CP) – Žuta Lokva – Otočac. In total 404 km and approximately 4650 meters of ascent. As the elevation profile graph says the steepest climbs will be done ridden as downhills.

Brevet’s time limit is 27 hours and we will be waiting for you at the finish line in Otočac on Sunday, June 1st, until 9:00 am. Proper bike, helmet, reflective vest, white front and rear red light are obligatory. We recommend carrying on a handy tool, pump, tire repair kit, two spare inner tubes and a spare tire.

Applications

The starting fee is 100 HRK. You can order commemorative medal (70 HRK) upon successful completion of the brevet. You can register, and if necessary, cancel your registration, through Thursday, May 29th, at noon. Your application must include your name, postal address, date of birth, email address and phone number of he mobile phone you intend to use during the brevet.   • In order to complete the ‘paper work’ on time, come to the start at least at 5:30 am. Each participant has to sign the Liability statement, and will get the Road book, map and brevet card.
